Sustainability Efforts

Committed to Environmentally Conscious Practices

About

The Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center is committed to finding energy solutions that lessen our negative impact on the environment while balancing 100% guest satisfaction. We invest in environmentally friendly technology, use of renewable energy resources and achieving operational efficiencies through the sourcing of recyclable materials.

Minimizing  Waste

Grab-and-go products provide our guests a convenient option when dining with us. We work hard to minimize the impact the products we use have on the environment by sourcing recyclable, biodegradable or compostable containers.

All of our clear cups and lids as well as our barista syrup, soda and water bottles are made from PET plastic, a safe, lightweight, and flexile material that is also 100% recyclable. Our black straws are compostable and our to-go cartons are made of 100% recycled paper and are biodegradable.

We offer water filling stations in the public areas of the hotel to provide convenience and minimize plastic bottle waste in the environment.

Conserving Energy

Not washing and drying towels and linens every day saves water, soap and electricity.  Our ‘Choose to Reuse’ towel program encourages guests to consider reuse of their towels to help aid in water and energy conservation.

LED lights use 75% less energy and last 25 times longer than incandescent lighting. LED lights are utilized in all public areas, for outdoor lighting and in all guest rooms at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center.

When staying or dining with us at the Texas A&M Hotel, our guests can recharge both batteries: theirs and their car’s. Our attached parking garage offers nrg network charging stations for electric vehicles. Use of the stations require a membership with the respective network to activate the charger. This membership and associated usage fees are independent of the hotel, Texas A&M University and Transportation Services and are in addition for fees charged for parking.
